How to find work

This is a new section of the Interim Hub devoted completely to helping you find work as an interim.

According to the IIM Survey 2011, only 60% of interim managers are on assignment at any one time. If you are one of the 40% who are not currently on assignment, or indeed if you are nearing the end of an assignment and do not know where to look next, this section is designed to help you.

In this section we explore:

  • Marketing your brand. From defining your value proposition to choosing the right routes to market, this section is full of tips for improving your approach to marketing – and defining your target market.
  • Getting your CV right. An interim CV should be very different to the one that you may have used to find permanent work, and this section gives you a few pointers on how to change your CV to appeal to potential clients.
  • Networking. Networking is overlooked by a huge proportion of interims, yet half of all assignments are won through an interim’s own network. This section gives advice on networking, lists networking organisations and also gives advice on online networking (or social networking).
  • Working with Service Providers. Interim Providers (specialist recruitment agencies that place interim managers in work) are a very useful route to market. Find out what providers are looking for in today’s market and which ones to approach. Search our database for providers within your sector.
