Food Interim of the Year 2012

Pioneers of Interim Management in Food & Drink manufacturing, Jarvis Johnson, Malham Consultancy and Interim Bank are pleased to announce their joint sponsorship of a new award, designed to reward Interim Managers within this exciting sector.

The award will be open to any Interim Manager on assignment within the year 2012. Nominations will be invited from all Interim Managers, Food & Drink Manufacturers and Interim Providers who work within the food and drink manufacturing sector. The nominees will be judged by a third party (independent of the sponsors) and the winner will have to provide evidence that they delivered impact, value for money and excellent results during their assignment.

Scott Hutchinson, Managing Director of Malham Interims said "I've had this idea for a while now but wanted to get other providers, who are in competition to our business, involved to lend it more credence and independence. I look at the hundreds of interims in food manufacturing and think that they largely go unrecognised – this is an excellent way of rewarding the unsung heroes of Food and Drink manufacturing".

The UK food and drink industry is one of the most competitive manufacturing sectors in the world, with an annual turnover of £77.4 billion, employing over 500,000 people. Interim Management has long been a resource used within the sector for a variety of different scenarios including crisis management, special projects, gap cover and performance improvement.

Lisa Johnson of Jarvis Johnson: "Since placing our first Interim Manager in Food in 1999, we have seen many Interim Managers rise to the challenges presented by the industry, often investing heavily in their own professional development with no guaranteed return. We are delighted to be involved in this award and feel it will be a welcome opportunity for outstanding Interims to gain the recognition they deserve".

Nominations from all parties will start to be taken in March. The award will be open to any Interim Manager who, during the period 1st Jan –31st December 2012, has been engaged on assignment within any Food or Drink manufacturing entity for a minimum contract period of three months.

The third sponsor, internet-based Interim Bank, believe that the award will be a fantastic opportunity for an individual Interim to raise their profile in the industry. Frederika Roberts, Joint MD of Interim Bank, stated : "in addition to the cash prize, the honour of winning the award of "Food Interim of The Year" in its inaugural year will be a fantastic addition to anyone’s profile".
