IMA Self-Marketing workshop for interim managers

Would you like to sharpen up your self-marketing skills? For many interims, the requirement to ‘sell oneself’ does not come naturally, and when the market place hardens the need to confidently place yourself before clients becomes even more imperative. This and the Interim Induction workshop have been endorsed by the Interim Management Association.

Who should attend?

The workshop is geared towards experienced interim managers who wish to enhance their self- marketing skills in order to gain more assignments, but is equally suitable for those just setting out on their interim career for whom the prospect of selling themselves can sometimes be quite daunting.

Objective

To examine your position in the marketplace and the many routes available to you to help you sell yourself and your product, with interactive participation throughout the day.

Topics

  • Defining your Target Market(s). Clients like to deal with 'specialists', so you need to determine which market segments are most likely to do business with you
  • You as a product. You will need a compelling business offer that attracts the attention of your target market, one that sets you apart from the crowd and gets you noticed
  • Examining your Routes to Market. You will need multiple routes to maximise your exposure, and we will examine all that is available to you and find the ones that you should concentrate on for the greatest effect
  • Networking for Business Growth. It is a well known fact that the majority of assignments are won through effective networking. For most people networking is a critical skill which does not always sit comfortably and we need to develop easy ways for you to handle networking in a variety of situations
  • Selling Yourself in Meetings. Traditional hard selling is likely to have potential clients running for cover, whilst the consultative selling approach will position you as a trusted partner who could add significant value to a business
  • Handling objections. The path to winning assignments rarely goes perfectly and potential clients usually have objections to not going ahead especially if the concept of interim management is new to them. Objections are where you have a real opportunity to shine as long as you handle them effectively
